Fifth Year Students Attend Concern Debate Workshop on Climate Action
On Monday, 10th March, Fifth Year students Madeleine Hardy and Emma Ulmschneider had the opportunity to attend a Concern Debate Workshop in Athlone. The workshop, focused on COP 30, brought together students from across the country who have participated in the Concern Debates programme.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in discussions on key climate issues, collaborated with their peers, and shared ideas on tackling the global climate crisis. One of the highlights of the event was the students’ contribution to a climate declaration, which will be formally presented to a politician at COP 30 in November.
This was a fantastic opportunity for Madeleine and Emma to develop their debating skills, meet like-minded students, and have their voices heard on an issue that affects us all. Well done to both students for their enthusiasm and engagement in such an important discussion!
