Ethos
At Dominican College, our school ethos is founded on the Dominican tradition and inspired by the core values of truth (Veritas), compassion, justice, and community. As a Le Chéile school, we are proud to offer a values-based education that seeks to develop the whole person — intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and socially.
We are a welcoming and inclusive school community, where every student is valued and respected for who they are. We celebrate diversity and work hard to ensure that all students feel a strong sense of belonging, regardless of background, ability, faith, or identity. Our school fosters a culture of kindness, respect, and care, where positive relationships and mutual support are at the heart of school life.
Our ethos places equal importance on academic excellence and personal development. We support our students in becoming confident, curious, and compassionate individuals who are empowered to think critically, act justly, and contribute meaningfully to society. Rooted in a strong sense of social justice, we encourage students to be active citizens who seek to make a difference both locally and globally.
We work in partnership with parents, guardians, and the wider community to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment in which students can thrive. At Dominican College, we believe that education should not only prepare students for exams, but help them to grow into thoughtful, resilient, and caring young people ready to meet the challenges of the world with integrity and purpose.
